Microtonal pop songs from deep into the future, where consciously performed microtones are ubiquitous in music and the Western world's tonal palette has been expanded to introduce finer granularity in pitch distinction and greater acceptance of more complex musical intervals.

A microtonal album with vocals, fusing elements of electronic pop, funk and breakbeat, and employing a blend of familiar and more obscure instruments like steel handpans and scifi synths all swimming in xenharmonic harmonies, this unique album is sure to get you bopping along with these novel and esoteric notes in a totally new way!

These songs are all performed in 31 equal divisions of the octave (31edo), a meantone temperament which provides a framework for smoothly incorporating more complex frequency ratios into standard compositional structures. On the surface, many of the songs feel natural and 'normal' in their tuning, with the basslines and vocals largely sticking to more familiar intervals. But the more you listen, the more you'll find that embedded deep within each song is a vast twirling mass of interesting microtones, higher harmonics and essentially tempered intervals which lend unique and exciting colours to the music! I really hope you enjoy!

The name of this album is something of an allusion to its purpose, with the goal of planting the seeds of microtones within a more broadly accessible album which could be enjoyed by people unfamiliar with the concept of xenharmony. The vocals are all diatonic, which helps to give listeners something familiar to latch onto and sing along with and encourages them to become more comfortable the feeling of singing within microtonal chords without having to learn the new notes. Of course this might make the music a little less exciting to the established xenharmonic community at large, but with the goal of accessibility to the larger music-listening community I hope I have achieved my goal of planting the seeds of microtones into everyone's minds.
